Terms of Use

Agreement

Journo is operated by Mehul Srivastava (“Journo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using Journo, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these supplemental terms conflict with Apple’s standard EULA, Apple’s terms control to the extent required.

Journo is a journal, not professional care

Journo helps you record and read your own thoughts. It is not therapy, medical care, mental-health treatment, crisis support, legal advice, or financial advice. AI-generated text can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on Journo for diagnosis, treatment, safety decisions, or other high-stakes decisions.

If you may harm yourself or someone else, or are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service now.

Who may use Journo

You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet the minimum digital-consent age where you live. Journo is not directed to children under 13. If you use Journo for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

The service

Journo can save voice recordings, process speech into text, format text into a journal entry, sync supported data through device services, and provide playback and search features. Features may change, improve, be limited, or be discontinued. Internet access may be required for processing and subscription verification.

Automated processing does not always hear or interpret speech correctly. You are responsible for reviewing generated text before relying on, exporting, or sharing it.

Free use and Journo Premium

Journo may provide free recording, playback, entry processing, or transcript previews. The exact free allowance shown in the current app applies and may change for future use.

Journo Premium unlocks the paid features described on the purchase screen, including complete transcripts for eligible entries. The purchase screen shows the subscription period, local price, trial eligibility, and renewal terms before you confirm.

Subscriptions, trials, cancellation, and refunds

Prices may vary by country, currency, tax, or App Store pricing changes. We will provide any notice required by Apple or applicable law.

Your content

You keep ownership of the recordings and journal content you create. You give us a limited, worldwide licence to host, transmit, reproduce, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support Journo, comply with law, and enforce these terms. This licence ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to reasonable backup, security, and legal-retention periods.

You are responsible for having the right to record and process any voice or information included in an entry. Recording laws vary; do not record another person without any notice or consent required where you live.

Acceptable use

You must not:

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains the information Journo handles, the providers used to operate the service, retention, deletion, and your choices. By using Journo, you acknowledge those practices.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Journo reliable, but the service is provided on an “as available” basis. Processing can be delayed or unavailable because of connectivity, provider outages, maintenance, device limits, or events outside our control. Keep your device and iCloud backups configured in a way appropriate for the importance of your entries.

We may update the app, providers, free limits, paid features, or these terms. Material changes will be communicated when required. Continued use after updated terms become effective means you accept them.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Journo at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if you materially violate these terms, create security or legal risk, or misuse the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability, and dispute terms—will survive.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Journo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, non-infringement, or that content will never be lost. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Journo and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity arising from the service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to Journo will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Journo in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with lawful jurisdiction in India will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or dispute forum available where you live.
