What Journo does
Journo lets someone speak a personal thought instead of organising it on a blank page. The recording is saved on the device first. Remote processing then creates a transcript, a readable journal entry and a title while the original recording remains available for playback.

What Journo is not
Journo is not a therapist, AI companion, mood tracker, meeting recorder, productivity assistant or public social journal. It does not claim entirely on-device processing, end-to-end encrypted zero-knowledge storage, Android, Windows or Mac apps, or an independent security audit.
Those are meaningful exclusions. Someone seeking active advice, cross-platform desktop access, a photo-heavy life archive or verified zero-knowledge storage should choose a product designed for that job.
Data path, stated precisely
The recording is written to the Apple device before upload and may sync through the owner’s private iCloud account. A processing copy of audio is uploaded to create the transcript and entry, then removed after processing; abandoned uploads have a seven-day cleanup safeguard. Processed backend text is retained under a pseudonymous identifier for recovery. The current released build’s deletion limitation and the broader deletion-request path are stated in the Privacy Policy.
